What a joy to be able to go home and warm up after a long day.
Unfortunately we do not all have this chance....But we all have the opportunity to act and show our support for those who need it most.
The Coldest Night of the Year Walk is a fun, family-friendly fundraising event that takes place across Canada on Saturday, February 24th, 2018, supporting charities that help people who are homeless. It's wonderful because it gives people a feeling that they can do something, that we all can!
First United Church in Vancouver holds a Coldest Night of the Year Fundraising Walk every year to raise funds for their ministry in the downtown eastside of Vancouver. Folks walk the 2, 5, or 10k walk, then return to First United for a humble meal, just like what the shelter residents and ccommunity dine on for community dinners.
You can join as a team leader or walker. If you don't have time to create a team, you are invited to gather sponsors and join the First United team"Nat the Great Plus Eight" organized by a volunteer at First United.
